He’s drowning in rejection. She’s riding the waves. Can a rich boy and a surfer girl find love at the beach?

Aidan isn't used to losing. But when his popular girlfriend dumps him right after he tanks at the end-of-year swim meet, he’s not sure if his golden touch will ever return. Embarrassed and dejected, Aidan heads to the rough end of the beach and meets the surfer girl who’s about to change his life.

Every passing week gets Harley one step closer to escaping her crappy house and a mother who doesn’t care about her. Charging the rich pretty boy for lessons could be her post-graduation ticket out of town. But her fiercely independent streak starts to fade when her feelings of pity for Aidan evolve into something more.

As Aidan and Harley’s undeniable attraction comes in with the tide, suspicious friends and an interested ex make waves. Can the unlikely pair overcome a culture clash to find love’s perfect break?

Over the Falls is the first book in the Ryder Bay YA sports romance trilogy. If you like beach culture, hot guys, and youthful passions, then you'll love Jordan Ford’s fun-drenched novel.

Buy Over the Falls to jump into love's deep end today!

Love these two characters! Aidan is a boy from what is considered to teens as a "rich kid's" school. But despite this title, the same issues that go on at a normal high school also effect guys like Aidan, a once known school hero in swimming competitions. Lately, Aidan has not been doing all that great in competitions and now is feeling the impact of it all. What is he going to do with his life? Where is he going? How did this all happen? After a bad breakup, Aidan is asking himself all these questions and brings himself onto the other side of town, where the "normal kids" hang out. There, he finds Harley, a surfer girl who knows all too well the troubles that a teenager can go through. Working at a grocery store, taking care of herself most of time, and dealing with rude customers like the Elite girls is not her idea of a happy ever after. Harley and Aidan come to be surfing pair after Harley offers to give Aidan surfing lessons for cash, a much needed asset. What they didn't expect is to enjoy one another's company and both wanting to be around the other 24/7. But drama always lingers, and these two must fight through it if they are going to make it.A great read for any teen or YA lover, this story by Jordan Ford hits home to anyone, no matter what side of town you are on.Fantastic Read!!!! I really enjoyed this story!! It pulled me in from beginning to end with the characters and once started, I didn't want to stop. The story is very well written. This is a clean, young adult romance. We get to see both Harley and Aidan face some of their problems and learn more about who they are. Harley was hurt badly her freshman year and it turned her off relationships completely. She also does not have the best home life or example and so wants nothing to do with them. Aidan just got dumped and hasn't been doing great at his swim meets like he usually does. He feels like a failure and doesn't know what to do or how to fix it. Harley and Aidan end up running into each other and Harley ends up offering to teach Aidan how to surf. I loved the way that they developed their relationship. It started with friendship, which is exactly what they both needed at the time. We get to see them grow up some and mature and learn from what's going on around them. I would have loved to have gotten more of them, (especially together). Hopefully in the rest of the series we will continue to get to see them and I would love to revisit them later on as well! Overall, a fantastic read and I can't wait for the next one!I liked it This story hooked me from the start. It definitely surpassed my expectations. It kept me guessing. The biggest complaint I have is that some parts of the book have quite a bit of casual swearing. I'm not a big fan of that even when it is "realistic", but I had to see it through to the end which is saying a lot. Generally speaking I'll quit reading a book if the language gets fowl. So here's to hoping she'll take the cussing down a notch so I won't have to give up on this series.

Dawn of the Code War Download

ISBN: B07J9L41HH
Title: Dawn of the Code War Pdf America's Battle Against Russia, China, and the Rising Global Cyber Threat

The inside story of how America's enemies launched a cyberwar against us - and how we've learned to fight back.

With each passing year, the Internet-linked attacks on America's interests have grown in both frequency and severity. Overmatched by our military, countries like North Korea, China, Iran, and Russia have found us vulnerable in cyberspace. The "Code War" is upon us.

In this dramatic audiobook, former assistant attorney general John P. Carlin takes listeners to the front lines of a global but little-understood fight as the Justice Department and the FBI chases down hackers, online terrorist recruiters, and spies. Today, as our entire economy goes digital, from banking to manufacturing to transportation, the potential targets for our enemies multiply.

This firsthand account is both a remarkable untold story and a warning of dangers yet to come.

The detemination of Chinese hackers to penetrate our society is a chilling tale Carlin has been working in various capacities in the federal government to bring various hackers, both private individuals and state-sponsored, to justice. His perspective is interesting. One revelation in the book is how Chinese hackers have been determined to steal various industrial and commercial secrets, which is reinforced with this recent news item. Then the WSJ reported that last month Trump signed an executive order that will relax cybersecurity regulations, including ones that were put in place by Obama, so his book is very much an indication of how we got to this point in time. His analysis of the Sony Pictures hacks -- there were three different episodes -- is interesting, particularly in light of the recent indictment of the North Korean spy who was behind them.An honest, clear-eyed description of the issues of cybersecurity Do you bank online?Do you use social media?Do you have a smartphone? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are vulnerable to cyber attack.  As much as we depend on technology in our lives, it's important to think about the implications of these choices we are making as individuals, as citizens of nations. Many further questions arise as we start to ponder the subject more: What precautions do we take to protect ourselves? Who is in charge of protecting the institutions we trust our information with? How do entities such as corporations and government protect themselves, especially when they themselves are made up of tech-dependent individuals? Former Assistant Attorney General, and Chief of Staff and Head Council for Robert Mueller, John P. Carlin uses his extensive experience to write a riveting book about the international cyber war the United States is waging every day.Carlin uses the organization of a good prosecutor to step-by-step explain the origins of the hacker. From the pranksters to the rebels to the thieves to the terrorists, the evolution of the crimes is outlined for the reader. What began as a personal challenge for the teen in the early 80s has become state-sponsored missions to steal military and corporate secrets. After a fantastic overview in the first chapter, he focuses on some key cases that have shaped the war over the last ten years. He details the reasons why Russia, Korea, Iran, and China pose the biggest threats to our businesses, infrastructure, and military secrets, and uses cases such as the attacks on Sony, The Sands Casino, and the 2016 elections as evidence.I particularly enjoyed the personal sections Carlin included about his experience working in the Hoover building. Yet, at times I wanted more of this type of writing, and less of the fact-for-fact details. This is my preference and I’m sure others will see the strength of all the particulars of the cases.Overall, Dawn of the Code War is an honest, clear-eyed description of the issues of cybersecurity in our nation and our world. With tech continually ruling our every day lives, Carlin gives us some essential questions to think about. He references several times how amazing it is that so many fictional plots have now become reality. This book is great for true crime fans looking to educate themselves on the current state of our war in cyberspace, a war that has no boundaries.Fascinating and compelling storytelling This is an important book about the current and future cyber threat that the American public, if not the global public, should know about. Carlin describes in detail the US government's efforts to deter cyberattacks through criminal prosecution. His insight on the process within DoJ that led to the prosecution of PLA hackers is especially fascinating. This book had my blood boiling, and I hope it will help make our society more aware of its increasing cyber risk.

Author: Melinda Gates
Published Date: 2019-04-23
Page: 224

Melinda French Gates is a philanthropist, businesswoman, and global advocate for women and girls.

The Moment of Lift is an urgent call to courage. It changed how I think about myself, my family, my work, and what’s possible in the world. Melinda weaves together vulnerable, brave storytelling and compelling data to make this one of those rare books that you carry in your heart and mind long after the last page.”

―Brené Brown, Ph.D., author of the New York Times #1 bestseller Dare to Lead

A debut from Melinda Gates, a timely and necessary call to action for women's empowerment.

“How can we summon a moment of lift for human beings – and especially for women? Because when you lift up women, you lift up humanity.”

For the last twenty years, Melinda Gates has been on a mission to find solutions for people with the most urgent needs, wherever they live. Throughout this journey, one thing has become increasingly clear to her: If you want to lift a society up, you need to stop keeping women down.

In this moving and compelling book, Melinda shares lessons she’s learned from the inspiring people she’s met during her work and travels around the world. As she writes in the introduction, “That is why I had to write this book―to share the stories of people who have given focus and urgency to my life. I want all of us to see ways we can lift women up where we live.”

Melinda’s unforgettable narrative is backed by startling data as she presents the issues that most need our attention―from child marriage to lack of access to contraceptives to gender inequity in the workplace. And, for the first time, she writes about her personal life and the road to equality in her own marriage. Throughout, she shows how there has never been more opportunity to change the world―and ourselves.

Writing with emotion, candor, and grace, she introduces us to remarkable women and shows the power of connecting with one another.

When we lift others up, they lift us up, too.

Title: Someday, Someday, Maybe Pdf A Novel
Author: Lauren Graham
Published Date: 2014
Page: 358

“A winning, entertaining read . . . [Lauren Graham] has smartly mined just the right details from her own experience, infusing her work with crackling dialogue and observations about show business that ring funny and true. . . . Just like the screenwriters of the best romantic comedies, she has taken elements of the familiar and spun them into a novel that’s heartfelt, hilarious and, hopefully, just the first example of what she can do with the written word.”—The Washington Post   “A charmer of a first novel . . . [Graham] has an easy, unforced style and, when the situation calls for it, a keen sense of the ridiculous.”—The Wall Street Journal   “With insight, care, and an abundance of humor . . . Graham demonstrates that her acting chops are not her only talent.”—Library Journal   “Thoroughly charming.”—Entertainment Weekly   “Sweet, funny, and full of heart . . . a dazzling debut.”—Emily Giffin, New York Times bestselling author of Something Borrowed and Where We Belong   “Warm and funny, charming and smart.”—Diane Keaton, New York Times bestselling author of Then Again   “Graham deftly captures what it’s like to be young, ambitious, and hopeful in New York City.”—Candace Bushnell, New York Times bestselling author of Sex and the City and The Carrie Diaries   “Fresh and funny and full of zingers, Lauren Graham’s charming writing style instantly drew me in, but it was her relatable characters (complete with doodled date-book entries!), irresistible romantic twists, and delicious plot that kept me turning the pages until well past my bedtime.”—Meg Cabot, bestselling author of the Princess Diaries and Heather Wells Mystery series Lauren Graham is an actress best known for her roles on the critically acclaimed series Gilmore Girls and Parenthood. She has performed on Broadway and appeared in such films as Bad Santa, Evan Almighty, and Because I Said So. She holds a BA in English from Barnard College and an MFA in acting from Southern Methodist University. She lives in New York and Los Angeles.

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLERFrom Lauren Graham, the beloved star of Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, comes a witty, charming, and hilariously relatable debut novel about a struggling young actress trying to get ahead―and keep it together―in New York City.

It’s January 1995, and Franny Banks has just six months left of the three-year deadline she set for herself when she came to New York, dreaming of Broadway and doing “important” work. But all she has to show for her efforts so far is a part in an ad for ugly Christmas sweaters, and a gig waiting tables at a comedy club. Her roommates―her best friend Jane, and Dan, an aspiring sci-fi writer―are supportive, yet Franny knows a two-person fan club doesn’t exactly count as success. Everyone tells her she needs a backup plan, and though she can almost picture moving back home and settling down with her perfectly nice ex-boyfriend, she’s not ready to give up on her goal of having a career like her idols Diane Keaton and Meryl Streep. Not just yet. But while she dreams of filling their shoes, in the meantime, she’d happily settle for a speaking part in almost anything—and finding a hair product combination that works.

Everything is riding on the upcoming showcase for her acting class, where she’ll finally have a chance to perform for people who could actually hire her. And she can’t let herself be distracted by James Franklin, a notorious flirt and the most successful actor in her class, even though he’s suddenly started paying attention. Meanwhile, her bank account is rapidly dwindling, her father wants her to come home, and her agent doesn’t return her calls. But for some reason, she keeps believing that she just might get what she came for.

Someday, Someday, Maybe is a story about hopes and dreams, being young in a city, and wanting something deeply, madly, desperately. It’s about finding love, finding yourself, and perhaps most difficult of all in New York City, finding an acting job.

Praise for Someday, Someday, Maybe

Couldn't Hold My Interest I'm a huge Gilmore Girls and Lauren Graham fan -- perhaps I expected too much, but this book fell short of my expectations. The writing was good, but there wasn't much of an actual plot other than the continuous trials of a hope-to-be actress. Slow moving, and I didn't find the characters very interesting at all. It might be of more interest to someone in the acting field or someone trying to be one. But for me, it just couldn't hold my interest.Wanted to like this but... I really wanted to like this book... but I just couldn't ever relate to the main character, Frannie, whom I found incredibly annoying. At one point in the book, I even found myself saying out loud, "Oh my gosh, shut up already!" I was so disappointed because my daughters and I are huge Gilmore Girls fans, so I was really excited to read Lauren Graham's new book, (LG plays Lorelai on the show). This book mostly read like an unending stream of consciousness by a neurotic woman who struggled with terrible low self esteem. While that can sometimes be endearing in some stories, the character Frannie just came off to me as an insanely self conscious individual who had a thousand self deprecating thoughts a minute! All of which the author felt she had to include on all the pages of this book!Just one more reason to love Lauren Graham! If your a fan of Helen Fielding's: Bridget Jones you will seriously enjoy reading Someday, Someday Maybe.THE BAD: (this has nothing to do with the writing or anything else) For the Kindle version, at least for the paperwhite, the pages with the Filofax stuff were pretty much impossible to read. Especially since the "handwriting" was obviously supposed to look hasty and messy. It actually gave me a bit of a headache trying to decipher them.I've always known Lauren Graham is an awesome actress, super smart and hilarious. Now I also know she can write! There are so many laughs in this story. The characters are so outrageous and funny, they are mostly likeable, with the exception of a certain gentleman. I would love to know these people. So hard to put down, even when the words started to swim across the screen, it was nearly impossible to stop.I'm hoping that the saga of Franny will continue.
